Intern Application

 

Operation Clean City deals with trash, that is what we do.  The main responsibility of the following intern positions will not be to pick up trash, but to work to help expand our reach across the city to bring in new volunteers and to put in place initiatives to keep Operation Clean City in the forefront of volunteer organizations in the Augusta area. Operations

Will report directly to the Director of Operation Clean City to accomplish assigned tasks and oversee other interns. The Intern will be responsible for tasking and ensuring the completion of all tasks to the other interns, meeting with local leaders and business owners. The Intern will act as the representative of OCC at any event deemed necessary by any OCC Leadership Member. The Intern, upon leadership approval, will purchase and distribute shirts, posters, or any promotional items. The Intern will also be expected to work with the Director to create and manage campaigns that engage the community (i.e. The Last Straw Challenge, The OCC Expedition).

Event/Volunteer Outreach

Will work with the Director of Operations to complete all tasks related to scheduling clean-up events around the city.  Intern will be responsible for reaching out to local groups and businesses to find volunteers and sponsors, and for maintaining and setting the schedule for hosting weekend clean-ups. For example, the 1st clean-up of the month will be hosted by a local church and their volunteers, the 2nd by a military unit, the 3rd will be reserved for student groups at Augusta University.

Media

Will work closely with the OCC Leadership to ensure that the OCC website and social media platforms deliver consistent and educational online content to potential sponsors and volunteers. The Intern will have limited access to all relevant social media accounts and will be responsible for creating content, pending final approval by OCC Leadership. The Intern will also have the opportunity to create videos for online distribution that promote OCC’s anti-litter agenda.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced with photography both video and still
  • Creativity is highly encouraged
  • Ability to integrate OCCs message in all applicable social media platforms
  • Responsibility and attention to detail are key
  • Experience in video editing software
  • Ideal for those pursuing a marketing, journalism, creative writing, communications, or related degree
